It's so hard to download this stuff. A classmate exposed me to X Japan a couple of years ago and I've been trying to download their stuff. I'm also interested in checking out Polysics, but I can't find a working discography torrent.
I'm just waiting for the onslaught of people that are going to ask "Is Yatta by Happatai Jrock?"

(ill recomend some of my favorites)
i love the Gazette! (reila, cockroach)
-alice nine(Velvet, Kowloon)
-PANIC*CH (Iyagarase, Kodoku mousou, Midara)
-Psycho le Cemu (they were the first jrock band that i heard...they broke up though)(Murder Death Kill, Love is Dead, Yume Kazaguruma, Scream, Last Emotion, Prism)
-Gackt is ok in the visual sence but musicly he is amazing (Vanilla, Cube, Mizerable)
-D'espairs Ray(Garnet, Reddish~Diva Version~)
-Dir en Grey(Embryo, C, The Final, Kodou)
-hide(Pink Spider)
-Kagrra(Koi)
-L'arc~en~Ciel(Round and Round 2005)
-Pierrot(Powder Snow, Overdose)
-The Pillows(Funny Bunny)
-The TRAX (krock but really good)(Paradox, Rhapsody)
-Vidoll(Heroin)
-XJapan(Vanishing Love)
i was introduced to jrock through a friend in 9th grade...and my love has just kept growing ever since.^-^ once your introduced you have to discover what bands you like for yourself...google it! i would collect JRock stuff if i had the money to but everythings just so expensive.
and since im a dork im going to leave you with this guide just for kicks:
PARENTS GUIDE TO JROCK
1) Don't worry, your kid probably isn't gay, even though the pics hanging next to their bed looks like girls.
2) Don't get your kid an English CD for their birthday or any other gift giving holiday, they probably won't like it.
3) When they show you a pic of their favorite singer, don't instantly assume that it's a girl, it probably isn't.
4) If you walk into the room while they are on the computer and they minimize the window instantly, don't be offended, it's probably for your own protection.
5) Don't be suprised if their total clothing and make-up style changes
6) If they start speaking a language that is almost English, but not quite, don't worry. Its called "Engrish". You'll get used to it.
7) Don't insult their favorite J-Rockers.
8) When they start talking about Lucifer, they aren't worshiping Satan.
9) Buy more ink jet cartridges for the printer, the more pics the fan has, the happier they will be.
10) Don't be suprised when you can no longer talk to your child about anything except Japan.
11) Be prepared to learn more than you ever had, about something you never wanted to know about.
12) A man in a dress is sexy, no matter what you say, nothing can change that.
13) Don't correct them when they spell the name "hide" with a lower case h, that's how it's done.
14) When they collect scrap fabrics to make plushies, don't worry, they aren't practicing voodoo.
15) It doesn't matter that they don't know what the singers are saying, don't bother arguing about it.
16) J-Rock isn't a phase and they won't grow out of it
have a nice day and keep rocking,
XxDaixX

Ahh I love the Gazette as well..^^
Other good ones include:
-Pierrot(they disbanded last year june though=(..i recommend Purple Sky, Nuclear Sky, Smiley Skeleton, Haruka, and Barairo no Sekai, cocoon, salvia, etc.)
-Plastic Tree(some good songs include: Sink, Harusaki Sentimental, Tsumetai Hikari, Baka ni natta noni-a funni cover song-)
-Luvie(Go to youtube and watch Irony Sun Light, you would love it)
-SID(though i did not listen to a lot of their songs before, I love their style^^ some good songs include Otegami, Ajisai, Binetsu)
-L'Arc-en-Ciel(J-rock phenomenom, and they are. Good songs include: Stay Away, hitomi no junnen, Blurry Eyes, Driver's High)
-Hide(ex- X Japan guitarist, dead, but his works would make you forget about that. Pink Spider and Rocket Dive is great)
-Onmyouza(a heavy metal band basing their style on a traditional Japanese feel..the female vocalist sure can sing! Kouga Ninchopo, Akkihokan, all great=))
-Miyavi(the dude can't sing, but he's lovable=)good songs include kimi ni negai wo, and Kekkonshiki no Uta)
There is much, much more..and they would all come you once you start go deeper in it.
--
I like to buy J-rock CDs when I could find them and sometimes magazines. I bought one issue of Shoxx, which is a very well-known J-rock magazine in Japan..a pity I can't read all the writings in it >.<..
Other mags include Cure, Fool's Mate, Arena 37.
