because theyre losers. lol my friends are losers too though. i love afi and they would rather listen to fergie. i dont get it- afi is amazing!!!

Simple dear. Because they don't know real music. I have heard of a band who is so dedicated to their music. Like A_fire_inside_aod said there's so much more to their music than well the music, there's mystery and secret messages, which make AFI much more interesting to listen to. The fact that they've been around for 15 years and released so many EPs and LPs only make them more respectable, because they paid their dues to be recognized and therefor appreciate their success more than the average band does. That's why I am an obsessed fan. and thats why their fans are so dedicated and as obsessed as I am, because they deserve it.

They are missing out on alot. Just tell them about AFI's 15 years history.
Tell them they used to be an underground harcore and punk band. Tell them about the lyrics and the mysteries.
Like, secret sites, flashes in the LLW video, symbolism and other things associated with Clandestine and 337.
These things certainly got me interested.

because they have different tastes, now if they say that afi sucks then they are closed minded and a pack of losers. However if they say they just do not like it then that is their opinion and you should respect that.

i agree with the first answer! i only have one friend who likes AFI, and i think it's just us two who likes the best band ever!
also, most of my friends like rnb, hiphop, rap, pop and dance music and whatever... it's annoying...!!

how do we know? you just need to understand their music, where their coming from, and things. i ask your friends why, not us.
