I want to make my boyfirend a mixed cd for Valentine's day, but i'm not really sure what to put on it. He likes a lot of different music, but his favorites inculde: eighties like Duran Duran, Acid Rock, And Jazz (he plays the trumpet).
Any suggestions of what to put on the cd?

Also, I wan't to get him a little something else like a box of choclates. Is this a good idea, and if so any other ideas for another small gift?

Here's a bit about him so you have something to think on:
He likes - Zombies, writing, setting things on fire, creativity, the arts (especially painting), chuck taylors, The book "Pay It Forward", kisses, Ferris Bueller, and much more.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

There's a romantic trumpet jazz song from the Pink Panther soundtrack (the Peter Sellers one, not the recent Steve Martin movie). Probably would be credited to Henry Mancini. It's called "Royal Blue." I think that would be a wonderful song to add to any mix CD. You can sample it at amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001P1BV6/24680e-20

For 80s songs, here are a few suggestions:

Crazy for You - Madonna
Take My Breath Away - Berlin
Endless Love - Diana Ross & Lionel Richie
Can't Fight This Feeling - REO Speedwagon
Eternal Flame - The Bangles
True Colors - Cyndi Lauper
The Power of Love - Frankie Goes to Hollywood
Mad About You - Belinda Carlisle
Something About You - Level 42
Waiting For A Girl Like You - Foreigner
Heaven - Bryan Adams
Faithfully - Journey
True - Spandau Ballet
(I Just) Died In Your Arms - Cutting Crew
I Love You - Climax Blues Band
Space Age Love Song - A Flock of Seagulls
Babe - Styx (very late 70s song)
Biggest Part of Me - Ambrosia
Somebody - Depeche Mode
Save a Prayer - Duran Duran (put this last!)

Thought of one more, for the Ferris Bueller lover, "Oh Yeah" by Yello. Not a love song, per se, but... ;D

Ah in case you prefer incredibly sturdy upbeat songs to your mixture tape, alot of stuff from the 70s to 80s have a super array of music that works for the two rapid upbeat songs and those slow delicate-gooshy songs right this is a few super suggestions to your rapid upbeat songs: Billy Idol - rebellion Yell, White wedding ceremony section a million, Dancing with Myself The pass-pass's - We have been given the Beat The treatment - Boy's do not Cry, merely like Heaven, Friday i'm in Love, Love Cats, close to to Me, Why can't I Be You? Stevie Nicks - fringe of Seventeen Sister Sin - One Out of 10 - heavily pay attention to this music..... its steel and the completed beat and the music itself merely makes you elect to arise and pass loopy dancing to it (btw it fairly is modern, underground steel) Joan Jett - undesirable acceptance
