slope = m = (3 - (-5))/(1 - (-2)) = (3 + 5)/(1 + 3) = 8/4 = 2
y-3 = 2(x-1)
y= 2x -2 +3
y=2x +1
2x - y = -1.

The slope, m, is the difference in y over the difference in x.

m = (3 - (-5))/(1 - (-2)) = (3 + 5)/(1 + 3) = 8/4 = 2

Then pick a point and solve to find b in the slope-intercept:

y = mx + b

3 = 2(1) + b

1 = b

So the equation in slope intercept is:

y = 2x + 1

And "standard form" is (if I remember correctly):

2x - y = -1
