My hubby& I have married 10 years- in a nut shell we have 2 problems his anger and my money management. He was arrested because of his temper last summer-attented classes and in still to counseling. I have & am taking a Financial Peach University class 14 weeks Dave Ramsey's teachings to help me manage my money better. He feels we should keed funds separate & I don't feel that a family can work together witl a money wall running down the midle-we have 5 kids and I realy don't want my marriage to break up. I can imagine my life with out my husband-(I'm 40 they always die before the women) even if was difficult but can't imagine it with my kids. We have some communication issues but are in counseling together working on it-Do you think its workable? Tax time is come up and I want to get my tax info out asap--I want to file single but married and HOH, claim the kids and day care, he gets the interest on the home. He did lie about the taxes last year, but we already worked that out.

Wow-
First, I suggest you both continue to see the marriage counselor. And you both take FPU together. FPU membership is for life so you can retake it but take your husband this time. The marriage counseling is key to get this work. I don't think separating funds will make a good foundation for the marriage. Think back what Ramsey says: "It isn't a joint venture." It is rich for poor, sickness & in health.

I think all marriages can be worked out (as long as there no abuse) if both parties work on the marriage. It sounds like you are on the right track but you have 3 big issues to tackle: anger management (and to see how you can help him with it), seperation and money. Keep with the counseling and do FPU together and hopefully that will get the two of you on the right track.

Good luck!

This is totaly up to you and what you want... Do you want this marriage or not??? If so then you will need to go to marriage counseling for help for you and the marriage. Sounds like you still love your husband and want it to work.
