If you are renting an apt, 2 bedroom, avg size, in good neighborhood, and you own 1 car, minimum $2,000 to $2,500 for a comfortable standard of living.
For a larger apt, condo, house, additional vehicles, add to that amount accordingly.

nicely, I even have lived in BC fr like 35 years and the cost of course keeps going up nicely think of roughly 1500.00 or greater for hire, then yet another 500 for nutrition and approximately 200.00 for a transit pass (in case you dont have a motor vehicle) yet another 150-200 month for utilities. Richmond is development a clean skytrain section to the YVR (airport) and the taxes are going way up i might think of roughly shifting farther out of the GVRD like the Fraser Valley the place you haven't any longer have been given the burden of better cost residing....... good success to you and your loved ones in case you desire help, touch me

if you guys think $2000 a month for 3 people is enough in the lower mainland.. you gotta tell me how the hell you do that!!!!! rent would be at the bare minium $900, bills $200 (no cell phone),$200 food (no eating out) etc...
