Hello there. I don't think that you have a thing to worry about. You can gain 35 pounds and even more and still be in the healthy range of weight gain. To tell you the honest truth it is more worrisome when we see a woman who has gained very little weight. Babies run a whole host of problems from low birth weights, some of them quite serious. You can gain another 20 pounds and still not be over what is considered a healthy amount of weight to gain.
The mothers weight gain is not always a direct reflection of the baby's weight. From personal experience I can tell you that the baby I gained the most with ( my first and I gained 50 lbs) was my smallest baby, 7 lbs 7 oz's. My last baby, number 4, I only gained 14 lbs with and he weighed 8 lbs 14 oz's. So, I can tell you from personal experience that your weight gain does not mean that you will have an extra large baby. I do think it should prevent the occurance of a low birth weight baby which is a very good thing.
Remember that you have forever to lose the weight that you gain with this baby but only one chance to give him a really healthy start on life. This is not the time to worry about how much weight you have gained.
Make sure that you are eating healthy foods and if that is what you are doing then you are fine!
Wait until after you have finished breastfeeding your baby and then see how much weight you really need to lose. Breastfeeding is the one time in your life that you will burn calories like crazy for doing absolutely nothing....but making milk. If you are totally nursing your baby you will be burning up about 1000 every day! Nursing really does help you get your figure back! I nursed all of my babies until they were well over 1 year old.
Good luck honey. I feel certain that your baby will be healthy and beautiful. Do NOT worry about your weight gain. You are doing beautifully.
Blessings
Lady Trinity~

It just means that you are gaining weight. I gained 55 lbs during my first pregnancy and about 20 of them were by the time I was 4-5 months along. It's not all in your belly. It's in your thighs, breasts, butt, you name it, it's there. I did have a 10 and a half pound baby but my sister also gained a lot of weight and her baby was around 7 pounds. The size of your baby does not depend on how much weight you gain. It depends on how you're measuring and the ultrasound measurements.

Yes!!! Absolutely, the average weight a woman gaines while pregnant is anywhere from 25 to 30 lbs but I know a couple girls that gained 50 60 pounds and have almost lost all of it. This does not have to do with the size of your baby. Good luck with ur pregnancy but remember the weight you gain will be hard to loose, try to exercise slightly throughout the day!

Normal pregnancy weight gain is between 25 and 35 pounds... only 5-10 is baby. The rest is extra muscle mass in the uterus, extra blood volume, amniotic fluid, your own water retention and a little fat.

Most of the baby's weight gain will be in the 9th month, and I think (don't quote me on this) that's when most women gain the majority of their weight.

You're not quite 5 and a half months along- you may want to stablize your weight for a bit. Check with your doctor, though!!!

i am 32 weeks and i have gained 21 pounds and my belly is big but i don't think it necessarily means your baby will be big. i know a lady who gained 80 pounds and her baby was only 5 pounds, but another friend of mine gained 50 pounds and her baby was almost a 9 pounder!

you only think that you put all the pounds in the belly. that's what i thought with my first one too. you can't tell while you are pregnant that you are gaining stomach fat. now that i am pregnant again, i learned my lesson the first time, i am 28 weeks and have only gained 15 pounds. everything you put on has to come off again and it take twice a long to lose fat as it does to gain it.

u gain most of your weight in the last 2 months. You are going to explode in your 8-9 month i think doctors want you to gain about 20-25 pounds. You have gained a lot of weight for being 5 months preg. Take it easy and a for most of wieight being water that is not true if you gain 67 pounds it is fat not water. someone is not telling you the truth.
