This is a time - generally - where men feel like they are getting ready to miss out on their youth. They tend to start dressing younger, buying fancy cars and chasing younger women. Its a time of insecurity, but it had be hell on the wife.

Mid-life crisis of men is another phrase or some use it as an excuse for a husband to cheat on their wife and kids with another woman. It is so wrong. I would say the main reasons for them doing this are turning away from God and not appreciating what they have.

Why is it so difficult for people to believe that men have mid-life crisis. If it is accepted that women go through menopause...and they do go through it...i have lived through it with my Mom...don't want to go through my own after that...anyway, it should not be so difficult to see that men go through something similar.

By the way, what is the question?

Yes, it happens! My father bought a sports car when he hit 40 -- just picture 3 LARGE kids crammed in the back of a 1971 Chevy Malibu! Not pretty -- and not comfortable at all!

Thanks for a great memory! (I'm getting prepared mentally for when hubby hits the mid-life "c" word!!!)

Just the realization that you are getting older and still haven't accomplished half of the things that you thought of since you were a kid. Woman go through it to just not late in life like men...woman get this realization much sooner and take life by the horns.

The time when men re-evaluate their lives. A lot of them will resort back to their younger years to relive what they thought were better times. Especially if they now have the money they didn't have when they were younger. Buying yellow sports cars. Dating younger women. Leaving their wives. Leading a second life.

Mid life is a time to re-examine what we've done with our lives, who we are, and what we're going to do next. Often, what is commonly called midlife crisis is simply a cry from our deepest self, asking that we take the time to figure these things out.

Buying a new sports car.....dying their hair......dressing younger.......talking different.......hanging around with a younger crowd.......going out to clubs that he didnt used to.......getting a young girlfriend or cheating on wife with a young gal........plastic surgery for wrinkles......spending less time with the family and more with friends......quitting his job......just an overall attempt to become or appear younger and resort back to his younger years. Is this what you wanted to know? Some signs of it?
Hope it helped.
