Maybe go to your local gym and ask the trainers there what course's etc they had to complete, maybe give a few friends some free coaching and get a home gym area installed and some equipment, see how they progress and if they are happy with the results, run a personal training business from home.. or become a mobile personal trainer, and go to people.. I think that most fitness and nutrition advice is really just common sense and that it comes down to eating certain foods and doing the correct exercises to achieve certain goals.. ..It also depends on how you present yourself on whether people will train with you or not, I find that I would prefer someone very fit and muscle to train me than someone who has an average figure with degrees behind them to train me.. I have my boxing instructor train me she has a gorgeous body and no formal qualifications other than she has been training in kickboxing for 8 years and she has just picked up what she has learnt from others over the years.. and I find that she is actually alot better a trainer than any instructor i have ever been to in the gym..

Call your local college and ask what classes are required.
