Well, if they played 16, won 10, then they lost 6 games. A ratio is nothing more than a fraction. So, place games lost over total played. 6/16 and simplify to 3/8. By the way, this is number sense, not geometry. Hope this helps.

I know math can be frustrating and sometimes you have to result in asking how to do problems like the one you just asked. The important thing is to understand it so here is how you figure out how to do ratios by giving you an example and then I'll show the answer to your question after the example I've provided:

A "ratio" is just a comparison between two different things. For instance, someone can look at a group of people, count noses, and refer to the "ratio of men to women" in the group. Suppose there are thirty-five people, fifteen of whom are men. Then the ratio of men to women is 15 to 20.

(Notice that, in the expression "the ratio of men to women", "men" came first. This order is very important, and must be respected: whichever word came first, its number must come first. If the expression had been "the ratio of women to men", then the ratio would have been "20 to 15".)

There are two other notations for this "15 to 20" ratio:

15 : 20

I had expressed the ratio as a fraction, namely, 15/20. This fraction reduces to 3/4. This means that you can also express the ratio of men to women as 3/4, 3 : 4, or "3 to 4".

another example:

In a certain class, the ratio of passing grades to failing grades is 7 to 5. How many of the 36 students failed the course?

The ratio, "7 to 5" (or 7 : 5 or 7/5), tells you that, of every 7 + 5 = 12 students, five failed. That is, 5/12 of the class flunked. Then ( 5/12 )(36) = 15 students failed.

Answer to your question:

Dallas won 10 out of 16 of their games so:

1. 10/16, reduce the fraction by finding the common denominator which is 2.

2. 10/2 = 5 and 16/2 = 8

3. Your ratio is 5:8

Good luck this semester!

ok if there are 16 games and they won 10 that means they lost 6
so they lossed 6 of 16....or
6/16
use 2 for both then divide 2

3/8 in simplest form

Lol, that's not geometry. It's something else. This is like fifth grade math.

10:16 = 10/16

10/16 = 5/8

5/8 = 5:8

Answer: 8:5

8 lost, 5 won

3/8, I would say... Hoped this helped.

They won 10/16 games. They lost 6/16 games so if you simplify your fraction, it would be 3/8.
