I have a Bachelors degree in Accounting and a Masters in Library Science. (I have never worked as either an accountant or a librarian.) I also have a federal felony conviction, for which I served 5 months at a camp and 5 months house arrest. My offense was white collar and is two years old. My dream job would be to work as a librarian. I live in Southern California. Any good career advice would be appreciated.

Be honest with your potential employers and express your desire for your dream job. As a librarian, it's not like they'd be worried about your access to millions of dollars, and if they give you a chance they'll find out you're now totally trustworthy right? Sorry it's not better advice but 99.9% of the time honesty is the best policy. Good luck!

Try getting a job as a library assistant and work your way through the system. Be honest about your conviction, a background check is going to turn it up and let them know you are ready to go to work and want to do the job.

Good luck!
