I have been bulimic for years and I am now 11 weeks pregnant and still havn't been able to give it up, however because I know the baby needs all the nutrients it can get I make sure I eat at least 3-4 times a day of very healthy food. I am worried about the occasional binge and purge, but at the same time I make sure I take my prenatal and eat healthy meals that I don't purge throughout the day. Is my baby in danger?

Yes. Any time you put your body through the stress of bulumia, your baby could be in danger. Just taking a prenatel vitamin isn't going to make a lot of difference if you don't stop your habit.

I suggest seeing someone and FIXING this problem now before it gets any worse.

Yes. Your baby is in danger. Bulimia isn't a disease that you can just wish away. It's not going to go anywhere now just because you are pregnant. It does sound like you are on the right track now though. Keep doing what you are doing and do it for as long as and as much as possible. Make sure your obgyn knows about the bulimia and maybe try therapy so that you can learn some coping mechanisms. Pregnancy itself can be stressfull. Stress is usually a major trigger for bulimia. Just make sure you keep talking about it throughout the pregnancy. Also just do your best to focus on the positive parts of pregnancy so that you can maintain a steady level of happiness. I'm sure you can do it. Good Luck!

Talk to your doctor. I went to a groups of docs, but when they found out I had a history of an eating disorder (anorexia), they had me only see the one that dealt more with high-risk pregnancy cases. Although I was considered "recovered" when I got pregnant, there was still a huge concern.
But she was GREAT. they weighed me backwards, so I could never see what/if I was gaining. And I had to really push myself to do what I was supposed to. But I did okay. I never ate for me.......but I made damn sure I was eating for that baby. I ate all the right foods to give her the best start I could and she is a healthy happy baby and I was into regular clothes 2 weeks after giving birth.

yes if you don't treat your bulimia and don't keep your food down. you should definitely get help not only for your baby, but for yourself. plus, bulimia doesn't help you lose weight anyways. people usually end up gaining weight because right when the food goes in you, the body metabolizes as much as possible so it can get the nutrients. one of my best friends had it and ended up gaining 10 lbs. if you're not purging up the healthy meals good for you!! that's the first step in quitting. you're proving you can go without purging. but yeah, you should definitely go to your doctor if you haven't already. Good luck!!

I think you should stop! Youre baby needs every nutrient that it can get! Throwing up your food isnt going to help. You are going to get a cute round belly anyways. Im 10 wks pregnant and cant imagine doing anything that would harm my baby. So think about the saftey of you and your baby. I know its hard....

YES!!!! Girls with eating disorders have a very high rate of miscarriage! You need to get some help to stop this behavior. You have good cause to worry. You are ruining your body, and you may be harming your baby. Get a professional who specializes in eating disorders. This is so important for your baby....please get some counseling, because this is something you shouldn't tackle alone. Good luck!

I am sure there are women that are trying to get pregnant that are on here that want to gag at this thought of what you are doing. Yes, your baby may if fact be in danger. Did you tell your doctor about your ailment? He/she would be able to recommend a course of action. Good for you though that you admit your problem and are trying to better yourself for your child. I hope you get through this and your child is born healthy.

Congratulation on your baby!!!

YES! This will affect your child, not only in the womb, but after he/she is born. This child is going to look up to you and want to do everything you do! You need to get help NOW! You don't want your child to go through this when he/she grows up do you? It is going to be hard, but you have to do it! An alcoholic has to give up drinking, and that is really hard. This is the same thing! Do it for yourself and your child. He/she is going to need a healthy mom around to take care of him/her.... Good Luck!!!!

I went to the dentist at 6 months prego. maximum dentists understand what they are able to and can't do for the period of a being pregnant. My dentist only made particular to no longer take an xray if i did no longer desire one. yet they're going to disguise the infant up as superb as obtainable in the event that they do might desire to take one. stable success! that's greater valuable to get it fixed now so as which you do no longer harm the infant later because of the fact of an infection.
