Fergie rested him.

But, promisingly enough, Carrick really pulled the strings well tonight without Scholes next to him. The players around him already have an established respect for him, he was solid next to an otherwise poor O'Shea.

He looked more offensive without Scholes next to him, he played real well.

I say with a player of Hargreaves talent (maybe not his price though), we should have a central midfield that well be solid for the next 5 or 6 seasons.
