If Garth Ennis was writing this fight it would kick a$$..! It would be as bloody and violent as it should be. I would call this too close, but the slight advantage goes to Logan. And Wolverine, in Ennis's hands, would be soooo much more of a bad a$$. Look at the current Punisher comic. Frank has never been darker, tougher or more violent. And keep in mind that Garth pushed Frank back to his "correct" age: early to mid 50s!
(You've been out of the loop for a while.... "Heaven" made a "deal" with Frank Castle. The "deal" was that he would kill for them and in effect "redeem" himself. Plus he also was very hard to permanantly kill. This deal was undone at a later point when "Heaven" sent him back to earth. He is now the regular version of Frank Castle, no powers and no deals.)

Umm...the Punisher never made a deal with the devil in the mainstream Earth-616 universe. I think you're thinking of Ghost Rider.
Considering that Marvel writers seem to make Wolverine nigh' invincible and the Punisher is merely human, I would have to say that Wolverine would easily tear up the Punisher. Yes, Punisher has the big guns and all, but that's when Wolvie's healing factor comes in to do the job.
Punisher can't reheal himself from Wolvie stabbing him, so Wolverine would definitely win the fight.

Certainly a battle to the end? The Wolverine would shred the punisher beyond repair and even though he made a deal with the devil it doesn't make him invincible!! He can be immortal but all busted up and forever feeling the pains....pretty ugly!! Remember making a deal with the devil can cause you tremendous pain!!! The Wolverine with his regeneration advantage would win with no doubt!!!!

I definitely agree with Zgundbar!
Garth Ennis writing this fight would rock - the battle would be epic.
That said, Wolverine would tear up Punisher like nothing else; his mutant abilities gives him the edge.
And Frank's immortality is no more, so sing a little N'Sync to the Punisher - bye bye bye!

Wolvie is the best at what he does..It's not a fair fight , tho Frank can take most people out he could probably find away to take Wolvie out.. but since Wovlie is the top selling character in Marvel he would never lose to the Punisher..Now I agree that Ennis would right a killer story..but how about instead of a fight story we get Neil Gaiman to wave a tale about them fighting.
