3(2)-(-2)=8....6+2=8
(2)+2(-2)=-2....2-4=-2

The answers are in the form (x,y). Simple substitution will give you the correct answer. For example, let's try a.

3(-2) - (-2) = 8
-6 - (-2) = 8
-4 = 8

Since that is not true, (-2, -2) is not the correct answer.

Now go do your own homework.

3x-y=8....(eqn. 1)
x+2y=-2..(eqn.2 )
multiplying eqn.(1) by 2 we get
6x-2y=16
Adding equation(2) to it,we get
7x=14
=>x=14/7=2
Putting the value of x in eqn(1),we get
3*2-y=8
=>6-y=8
=>-y=8-6=2
=>y=-2
Hence x=2 and y= -2
Therefore c is correct

Not to be rude in anyway but with math its kinda hard to pass the test when you have people doing your homework so a heads-up I would get help from your teacher asap.
