I'm not so sure we are.in any definable way. Most of us believe we are Patriots, although we differ widely on what that means. Most of us believe this is the best country with the best people in the world, but differ on what that means. A sense of freedom unites us. We feel good about our identity as Americans.

These same things that unite us also tend to separate us from the rest of the world. These beliefs lead to a national arrogance. I include myself in that group also.

Bush ran on a campaign platform of uniting the country. Sure enough it worked, most of us hate him.

The same things that divide us. Our religions, cultures, beliefs. Our goal to achieve success. Our acceptance and our rejection of things.

i think referring to nations is not great i believe the question she ask wat should we do to unite the world
