I just bought my laptop with a built in wireless thingy. Got a Belkin Pre-N Router. I ran the Belkin software and my home computer is running good. But I can't find my connection with my laptop. My wireless "switch" on the laptop is on. I can pick up everybody elses connection but not mine. Any clues on what I am doing wrong. Thanks.

First, make sure the wireless is ON on the router (should be an indicator on the front). Next, go into the router setup page and make sure that the SSID or network name is set to broadcast. This should be the default out of the box, but if you made changes in the wizard you might have turned one of those off. You can always run through the wizard again though. Lastly, go to the Belkin website and check out their FAQs to see if it is a known issue.

If your router is using a MAC address filter you'll have to tell it the address of your laptop.

1. Click Start / Run and type in "command" (w/o quotes) and hit enter.
2. Type in "ipconfig /all" (w/o quotes) and hit enter.
3. Note the Physical Address returned and enter this into your filter.
4. Close the DOS window by entering "exit".
