We rarely take vacations. This could be his only time going to Disney World. Should we wait until he is at least 5?

Well if you honestly feel that you might not return again, than I would recommend waiting till he's old enough to remember it. For frequent travelers, I recommend taking their kids at any age. Because even if they can't remember, you will and can share fun memories and photos of them as a little one with a character or out cold in their stroller. Its really up to you. As much as I hate that the prices for Disneyland and Disney World tickets are going up, Disney is getting better about offering affordable package deals. They have some pretty great fares going on right now for their Value Resorts (All Star and Pop Century).

I would suggest you go for it. This might sound a little weird but Disney World is a place where kids can be kids. It's good if you take your children to Disney World at a young age because when they get older, they might not like it anymore. Your 6 year old son can do everything at Disney World except ride the Big Thrills at the Theme Parks. Your 3 year old daughter can take pictures with Disney Characters, ride the little rides, and much more. I remember when I was 3 and I went to Disney World. So I say go to Disney World during spring.

If this is your ONLY trip ever to Disney, then yes you should wait. At 2 there are not many things that he will be able to do and enjoy. Actually, I would almost wait until 7 or 8, because then he can hit some of the bigger rides too, like Space Mountain or Thunder Mtn. Railroad. Hopefully, you will be able to enjoy more than just the one visit. I remember the first time I took my daughter. We checked into the All-Star movies resort, and she thought that was it. There was a small playground there, and when we tried to go to the Magic Kingdom the first time she kicked and screamed. When we got to the Magic Kingdom and were standing on Main Street USA looking at Cinderella's castle. I looked at her and said, "Katie, welcome to Walt Disney World." She looked up at me with tears in her eyes and said, "Daddy, we don't have to go back to the playground." I almost lost it right there, my wife and my in-laws both did. Worth every penny I have ever spent going to Disney. Now we joined the Disney Vacation Club and make it a point to go back down at least every couple of years.

If you never think you will go back then yes wait until he is older ...maybe even 7. I went for the first time when I was 4 and of course I dont remember it. However we have taken lots of trips there since and we always have a blast.

You could consider taking him when he is 4 or 5 and then save your money for another trip when he is older like 12. It will be a completely different experience both times.

Good luck

No, go now. Your child will love it, you'll probably want to take your kids more than once to disney world, because they'll forget how magical and wonderful the place really is. I say, take the child now, and then when they're about 10 or so. They'll love, and the adults do too.

A two year old is absolutly not too young to take a 2 year old. We have been taking our little girl since she was 6 weeks old and when she was 2 she put on quite a show for everyone there. Her timid approach to the first few charectars was something to see. Then she got the hang of it and starting giving everyone hugs and kisses. The pictures will be something that you will look at for years and years. Take lots !!

If you probably won't go again than I think you should wait until your child is about five so they can remember all the magic and fun of your trip to Walt Disney World.

I would say yes. i have young cousins and at 2 they could care less about being there they just wanted to sleep in the stroller lol. at 5 they are now going on rides and enjoying it more. if you can only go once go when they are a little older. but it is still fun if they are 2. just be ready to not ride rides and just meet characters.

Yes and Yes. No memory, although a momentary thrill.

My now ex & I took our 1 & 2 yr old....nothing but big eyes. Fear mixed with a few giggles at times (pricey memory for just us).

Then took I them at 5 & 6 years old (now 25 & 26). It was a days thrill on my limited budget, but after a year, they didn't (or barely) recalled a thing (even pricier for my limited single parent budget AND I took them to beaches, Knotsberry farm, 6 Flags....no recall).

TRUST me somewhere for you adults will be just as much as a thrill as a gettaway for him right now (personally...leave him with grandfolks)
