Reality TV began with a 15 year study of a family so long ago (early 50's-Their name was Louden or something like that.), that TV was only in black and white. And, they haven't exhausted the possibilities, yet.
If there is any redeeming value to these or if new viewers become hooked, then Reality Shows will be around for a long time. Too bad. We have substituted TV for reading and for living.

Perhaps never. People enjoy living vicariously through the lives of others, and reality tv shows allow you to do that. It goes to show that people have way too much time on their hands, and should find something productive to do. Watching one or two of these shows is ok, but there are still many people who do nothing but watch all of these shows, and it's frightening. Until the world experiences some kind of wake up call (aka a full blown nuclear war) reality television will still exist.

How ever long it takes, it couldn't be soon enough for me! I've watched a few minutes of some, just so I know what people are talking about. I'm even getting tired of Extreme Home Makeover, which is the only one I ever watched whole episodes of.

The only reality show I like is american idol. I don't even like the singing, I just like to see the wierdo's of america to come out of their cave and puke up a bad song.

We have not been brutally exposed to the many different facets of reality tv. There are ideas not thought of yet. Buy more popcorn.

The sooner the better. No tv trend lasts forever. I sure hope American Idol gets dumped to the wayside too...& fast.
