I'm 22 weeks pregnant and I'm having mild lower back cramps and leg cramps. It feels like when your period is about to come on..My period would be due at this time if I was not pregnant. Are the cramps happening because my period is trying to come on?? Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be concerned or is this normal? Thank you for your help.

Your body has shifted jobs now....its job is to focus on the pregnancy. It has forgotten all about periods for now.

For the cramping, get off your feet. Drink a couple big glasses of water, and rest for a bit. Try a warm bath to see if that makes it better. If the cramping continues, or you notice any bright red bleeding or fluid leaking out, call your doctor. Hopefully, you're just starting to have some Braxton Hicks contractions. Stay well hydrated and get off your feet as much as you.

Get yourself to a doctor, otherwise you are going to get a whole lot of old wives tales that will only confuse you.

It's probably just braxton hicks or normal pregnancy aches. You may want to call you ob tomorrow just to be sure.
