Yes, it still is...it could be alot better though if the ones who DON'T think it's the best, would pack their belongings, end their suffering of living in a land they constantly complain about and head on out to another country that they think is the best.....

I am absolutely a true american. Been through service and war and am certainly willing to fight for our country again, but you pose an interesting question.

There are a lot of people in a lot of contries that feel the same way. Every country has it's problems---we have Bush. It is how well the Government works that makes the people. Probably the biggest and weirdest example would be Cuba.

Most of the Cuban's who still live there have litterally nothing except poverty, but they feel very strong about their country. The Cuban's that have fled feel exactly the opposite. Both sides can't be totally right, nor can both sides be totally wrong.

Be glad that things are working for you and that you don't feel a need to escape.

Countries like Sweden and Icleand have the edge in a couple of key areas. With such small populations, they were able to create an effective form of controlled socialism and, as a result, have low rates of crime and poverty as well as excellent education and healthcare systems.

Despite the fact that it can be cold and depressing, people in those countries generally live a happier, more prosperous existence than those in America (and isn't that the most important factor when considering the value of a country?)

America is the best country for technology but often misuse its technology! Crime, gun, porno, drug and poverty seem never ending problem to deal with!
Also, champion of democracy but at the same time abuse it for the sake of political gain to certain parties like abortion, health care, gay right, minimal wages, war and etc.

this isn't easy to answer. All countries around the world believe it or not are great and wholesome b/c it's the people in them that run them. ok, nevermind... no it's not. ur justice system is terrible. i had to spend the night in jail for something i did not do. i've gotten fired for things i didn't do... i mean... no it sucks! did u see John Stewart interview bill gates? he pointed his finger at him and then in the end, he didn't even get up to say goodbye and neither does mariah carey your people here are very rude and dumb and they are followers not leaders. there's more to say but i'm tired and hungry, see ya...

the idea of america is imortal.....but as far as a governing body americans have used their own beleifs to rule. the time & who was the political force has changed the original dream. in my opinion. I think there are other systems (repubilcs, dicatorships, monarchys, etc.) that right now are better off then americans......i mean we still have low class individuals that beat their children, police force that enters homes carring off inocent peoples, etc. But our women are by far number one. :)~

Depends on what areas you are talking about when you ask this. There are alot of different categories with which to measure a country.

Education
Health care
GNP
etc...

We're not the best in many of these areas, but we're not the worst either.
