Usually the problem is because a label is peeling up an the adhesive gets stuck on the mechanism.
I tend to use tweezers to grab the disk while the floppy button is pushed in (where you should see it). Dont pull too hard, or the drive heads might come with it. Try an push the peeled label back down with the tweezers.
You should do this with the power off to the computer. Make sure you remove the peeled label after you get it out
Good luck.

ok if your floppy disk is stuck inside and you pressed the eject button under the opening then it is the metal protector that is probably stuck specially if the floppy disk is old or the metal protector was open. try using a flat instrument like a wooden stick or long paper clip and stick it tru the opening on top of the floppy. use a flash light to see where it is stuck and when you find the metal part of the floppy disk try to flatten it and push the eject button. if you are not able to take it out that way I suggest you take it apart. if you don't want to go thru all that trouble and the floopy disk is not important use pliers to pull it out with force you should be able to take it out and the metal part will be stuck inside but it will be easier to take it out now. Just remember to this with the power off and the power cord disconnected.
good luck

1. Remove the floppy drive.
2. Some drives have a small screw in the back that holds the top cover on
3. Remove any screws and look on the edges to see where the top cover clips in
4. Remove the top cover
5. Press the metal sleeve on the floppy disk inward on both sides to free the disk.

Remove floppy drive to remove floppy? Very small needle nosed pliers....I actually have some with long noses? the noses are long? Hmmm??? Proper English for THAT please? And as another suggested tweezers?
I merely wished to state that I have actually several different sized small, very small, maybe even teeny weenie small...needle nosed pliers so you don't think I just made it up!!
Who knows, maybe by now, you've solved the problem. Otherwise, perhaps take it to David Letterman & see if he'll drop the entire thing off the top of the Ed Sullivan Building in NYC???
