For example, why don't cows from Australia have different moos from Cornish cows, or Chinese dogs have different barks from Scottish dogs? Just wondered. Can't sleep.

Apparently they do. I read an article about cows in the UK - they have regional accents. I'll try and dig up the article for you now...

Yes having travelled extensively i can say most animals of the same breed do have different sounds.
Some animals change sound more than others. Most cow's do moo, but I've found that dogs and cats vary widely in their noise depending on there environment. Even the way we comment on the sound changes depending where you are from. However it maybe it's just me hearing them in different locations.
Next time you travel listen and ask the locals what sound an animal is making. About from the strange stares you'll get its very interesting :-)

Birds of the same species can sound different in different areas. I keep Cockatiels in a garden aviary. Some years ago, I was teaching them to wolf whistle. They quickly learned, so that my garden was often filled with their 'songs'. One of the blackbirds in the area also learned! It was NOT funny to be woken during the summer dawn chorus, by loud wolf whistling on the roof of my house!

It differs.
Human language and accent differs a lot.
Cows' moos and tigers' roar also change but as we do not know their language it all seem same to us.
