Yes, Alois Hitler was not only abusive towards Adolf, but he would also behave in an abusive manner towards the other children, and towards his wife Klara as well. Sometimes this was merely verbal abuse, but sometimes it would include physical abuse. At one point Alois is believed to have beaten Adolf with a hippopotamus whip - once having administered over 100 lashes.

Regardless if that is true he was old enough to know better. He was a power hungry bigot and murderer. My mother was mentally ill, I didn't become a killer
