Of the ones mentioned, each has their own benefits. But I prefer Mote Carlo. On an off night, you can get a smking deal.
Its a nice hotel, not a lot of traffic, clean rooms and a great Brew Pub. Plus close to a lot of the shows and events.
Plus the Duece is the best deal going. $5 all day pass.
On Another note. $7 cab ride from Downtown to the strip??? What is he smoking? or when was the last time they were in town?? Wow!!

I like the Imperial Palace it's reasonable.
it's in the middle of the strip.
Accross from Ceasor's, Treasure Island, and the Mirage.
The Mirage is awesome if that's in your budget.
Imperial palace has suites with in room love tubs!!!
Ask for the best rate for a suite with a big tub in it!
you can lie down in the tub, it's 6 ft x 4 ft!
When you call, make your reservations way in advance, at least 3-4 weeks, the prices go up and up and up each 7 day's that is closer to your arrival date.
Book early and give a credit card.
Treasure Island is nice, so is the Mirage.
Anything in the middle of the strip is good.
Take the trolly to on end, and walk back,
and then take the trolly to the other end of the strip and back!
All the places have great food.
Imperial Palace has great Chinese food, and a nice steak house.
Downtown you can take the trolly Downtown.
4 Queens has the best Prime Rib.
When you get hungry, you just go anywhere and look at the menu! go by your mood and the rest is easy!
have fun!

Do NOT stay at Harrah's or Barbarry Coast unless you like Nascar. I would say Treasure Island or Mirage, would be the best. Mirage has an awesome pool. Treasure Island has a great sports book, and cute little rooms. If you stay at mirage, when you check in ask if you can pay a small amount to upgrade to a suite. If they have any open they might let you and they are awesome.

The Golden Nugget is not on the Strip it is on Fremont Street.
If the hotel you listed, the Excalibur would be your best bet as they usually have the lowest prices, but it is at the far end of the strip. You can buy a 24 hour pass for the Deuce, double decker buses, that will take you anywhere although the walking isn't bad, just have comfortable shoes.
I would recommend searching travel sites and reading cutomer reviews.

The best two hotels that combine Location with value is Harrah's and The Barbary Coast.
I do a ton of bookings for Vegas and these two are perenial winners for both location and value.

I think the Golden Nugget offers the best value. It is in the heart of Vegas.
It is the center of old Vegas. and is a 2 minute / $7.00 cab ride to the doors of Monte Carlo.
All of this at a fraction of the cost of the big boys. But please, keep my little secret quiet. I do not want the whole world to know.
Thanks

my family and I went last april and stayed at Bally's. They are located smack dab in the middle of the strip. They dont offer much extra to do besides gambling, but who stays in their own hotel. I would def visit the Hooters Casino and the new Playboy casino.
