My teacher assigned a report 3 weeks ago. I handed it in..i did an oral presentation on it. My teacher is REALLY strict. My mother even said the highest grade she will give me is a 93. May sound good for you. Not for me....I am expected to get higher than my friend "who is the brainiac in my class" who has a 99.8 GPA! (Grade Point Average) For the first marking period, my average was a 93. My best friend:98
Today I come home with my report/oral presentation grade
I got a 95 ..wow so great. I am proud of myself...but not my mom
"You got a good grade..but we did( ******-My friend) get higher than you?" I try my best. I have big goals..
I want to get into Stuy HS
Want to get into Columbia and become a cardiologist
I want to have a 99.9 average
but it is not working out!
What should I do????????
Is there some kind of smart medicine that can make me a brainiac?

A 95 is fantastic...unfortunately it is hard to take when someone, especially your parents do not react and respond to you the way you want them to. I am sure they love you without a doubt and I am certain they are proud of you...perhaps they just show it in a different way than what you would like. Why not approach them and talk about your feelings and how hurt you were when they reacted that way. Regardless of how much your parents or anyone loves you, they are not mind readers...and the sooner you discuss it and resolve it the better ff you will be...especially in the future when come home with another great grade! Keep up the great work...be proud of yourself and aim for the stars!

That has nothing to do with your parents not appreciating you. Of course they appreciate you and love you, they just want you to have a great life. And if you don't do well in school, then life for you is done. That's an excellent grade for a strict teacher. You did good, worked as hard as you could. It's not going to get any easier, keep trying and don't let what your mom says get to you. You're doing fine!

good luck

You're right about your parents. I think I'd have said, WOW a 95, tremendous!!!! Good going girl.
We all need the approval of our parents. Yours are shortchanging you by what they are doing and that's too bad. I'm glad to read that you are proud of yourself--keep doing that and realize that you are good, worthwhile, valuable, and lovable whether your parents recognize it or not. (I'm sure they don't realize the damage they are doing but we can't change them, can we?) Realize that if you don't become a cardiologist, you'll still be what we know you to be--good, worthwhile, lovable, and valuable.
No, there is not brainiac medicine. Caffeine helps a slight bit but not enough to worry about.
