No one should presume to know what is in the heart of another person.
Emotions can be very complex. In the old Bette Davis movie, "All About Eve" certain characters simultaneously love and hate each other, and feel various shades of emotion between the two extremes. Love and hate can't always be neatly pigeonholed.
In Quentin Tarantino's movie, "Kill Bill Vol. 2", the heroine goes through absolute hell in her quest to get revenge on Bill. However, you sense that on some level, she loves at least a little part of him.
Cher was relieved when she divorced Sonny Bono, but when he died, she was devastated. I've never seen such an outpouring of emotion as when she delivered a eulogy at his funeral. She didn't want to live with him, but she never stopped loving him.
Hillary would have no chance at all of getting into the Oval Office if she divorced her husband at this point. It would ruin her political career at this juncture.
So, we can be callous and think Hillary is keeping Bill around for totally selfish motives. However, you never know how complex their relationship, and their feelings for each other, really are.

I think she really loved him in the beginning. Why else would a Wellesly/Yale-educated, ambitious feminist move to...Arkansas in the 70s? Bill's flagrant tormenting behavior is probably the cause of their relationship warping into the apparently weird relationship it seems to be. I'm sure it has also contributed to he coldness.
There are plenty of women (and men) like Hillary who have endured horrendous behavior for so long that they have long past the time of throwing up their hands and shouting, "what's the point!" Think about all of the husbands and wives of alcoholics who have stopped caring years ago --- that's Hillary.
She has been reported on many occasions to say, "Bill owes me," talking about her political career. David Gergin said that Clinton reminded him of a golden retreiver, after crapping all over the floor, reacted with an "I can't believe I did that" expression before going out "to the doghouse." Hillary always believed that if she could rise above Bill's despicable behavior without it destroying her, she would build up a morally superior credit to which he was under obligation.

Let's be frank. would you keep a guy around who cheated on you the way Clinton cheated on Hillary? She needs his prestige, money gathering experience and general advice and she knew this when he was caught with Monica. Hillary is a very shrewd cookie and she plays her cards close to her vest. She fools many people and may be the democratic candidate in 2008.

Well, if she does, she's one sick human. Have someone s#%h on you and rub your face in it, if that's love I hope I never experience it. She keeps him around because she figures it will help get her where she wants to go. I think she is a brilliant, conning, conniving woman. Little does she know, I personally think she would have gained a lot more respect from people if she had (like Dr. Phil would say) kicked him to the curb. I won't vote for someone that lets another human crap on them.

A little bit of both, she needs a strong political mind right next to her, and she needs exciting times at night.

Its completely political. You're more likely to get into office if you have a family. If she were to divorce him, her rating would plummit.

No, she doesn't love him. She just keeps him around for his charisma so that everyone will vote for her just to get to him.
