Does anyone have info on the tea taxes, (how much was charged , etc.) please help!

It was a shilling a pound, according to the site below. But the British East India Company was given a rebate of the tax by Parliament, so those who bought from that company got their tea more cheaply than if they'd bought from local merchants, even those selling smuggled tea. It appears that the Boston Tea Party wasn't about the high price of tea, it was a protest against paying any tax levied by Parliament (in which the colonists lacked representation).
