I've got a '91 now and really don't want to invest money into an older car that's going to last me only for a couple of years. Any advice? Thanks!

Probably the first answer would be of good help, though she did not left a contact for you to call or email to her.

If I were you, I would save and save, and only use what I earn to feed myself and pay transportation and the rest would be saved until I make enough to buy an affordable car. Maybe a 1995 or `97 is still affordable, depending where you live.

NO, NO, NO
A new car is a luxury most of us don't need.
If you insist on getting a newER car...go to the toyota or honda dealer and look for something 2 or 3 years old, that is a lease return....i hate to be sexist, but if you can find out who the previous owner was, get a car that was owned by a woman who had her maintenance done at the dealer.
If you arent a member of a credit union, sign up for one, and get pre approved for a car loan, and go into the dealer with your financing in place.
If the car costs 300 or 400 a month, you might want to put this much money away each month for 3/4 months to see how this affects your lifestyle...remember you will have a higher insurance tab and higher maintenance costs...good luck and Stick with toyota or honda!!!!!

I have to agree with answers number 1 and number 3? First try to save as much as you can and cut out extras, then I'd look for something from "98 or '99 that are still in good condition. However, I work at home as well doing what I love, helping others. If you are interested you could e-mail me and I'd give you details.

I work from home at a career that could easily fit around your college schedule. I have several students working under me. The company offers 401k, benefits, training and is a BBB member. I love what I do. Maybe it would work for you. You could certainly do it part time.
