Do you mean Green Lantern, the DC Comics superhero?

That would depend on which Green Lantern they decided to use. In the "Justice League Unlimited" cartoon series, they chose to use John Stewart. If they stay with the John Stewart character, Jamie Foxx ("Ray") would be my first pick. Eddie Murphy might be the next best choice provided he remains serious in the role. Another good choice would be Wesley Snipes.

If they choose to go with a different Green Lantern, there is a lot of possiblities:

Hal Jordan (the traditional Green Lantern persona) : Ben Affleck, Matt Damon or Willem DeFoe could all pull it off.

Alan Scott (aka The Sentinel, the Green Lantern with the red shirt & purple cape) Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, or Thomas Hayden Church ("Sideways")

Kyle Raineer (the artistic Gen Y Green Lantern) Chris Klien or Josh Harnett

Guy Gardner (anoying hot shot) Seth Grene, Kiefer Sutherland, or David Spade.

Kilowog (the giant space alien Green Lantern). Ving Rhames

John Stewart (again): Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy or Wesley Snipes.

It depends on which of the Green Lantern you are talking about. Keep in mind that these are my opinions, so if they don't fit your point of view, I apologize.
I think that Hal Jordan would be played well by Vince Vaughn, if he were to shed a few pounds and not be so goofy. He's hilarious, but he has a steely look to him as well, and could play stoic without trouble.
John Stewart would be best cast by pro-wrestler Ron Simmons. Perhaps Ving Rhames. He has to be built like a brick outhouse, though.
Kyle Rainer would call for a younger guy in his early twenties. Pick one out of that big book of MTV kids. Shot in the dark... The guy who plays Clark Kent on Smallville.

...Now... If we're talking about Guy Gardner, It would be done masterfully by David Caruso, who might turn his nose up at the offer. Maybe even Denis Leary.

Oh, and Vin Diesel as Killowog, and Gilbert Gottfried as the voice of Gnort. Angela Bassett as Jade, because I would cast that woman in anything after seeing Strange Days.
