Soda and vinegar work well, as do any of the commercial products (although I sometimes find it hard to get the cleaners off the edges where the ceramic meets the body). Whichever cleaner you use, start by using a flat razor blade to remove any debris. It cleans up a lot of the mess before you polish it with cleaners. It won't scratch a ceramic top, but I'm not sure if it will scratch a glass top or not.

I have had mine for 12 years and it still looks good . I use soap and a scrubby the soft and the metal ones. About once a month or when needed i use a flat razor blade scraper on it especially around the burners to get all the residue off, Works great!

Turn on the burners to burn off surface dirt. Turn off and allow to cool and spray "Dawn Power Dissolver" on the cook surface and allow to set for approx. 10- 15 mins. Use a sponge to wipe clean, rinsing often. After using this on my stovetop, I often turn the burners on again for a few minutes to make certain the surface is dry and then wipe off any residue which may have been left after the initial cleaning.

If it is a glass cook top? Try just a standard kitchen cleaner. And then to remove streaks, take a balled up piece of newspaper. It sounds odd but really does work well...It's non-abrasive and leaves it streak free...My brother works for Maytag, if that helps. Good luck to you :)

I use Windex, and heat all the burners first. I turn all burners on for about a minute on high, then turn them off about a minute later spray Windex, and wipe with damp rag. the heat makes everything come off, and the Windex give it shine!
