Wear wedges instead. They are still dressy enough for your boss but the easiest type of heel to walk in.

If you can get away with is, a wedge heel would probably be more comfortable for you. If not, remember that the thicker the heel itself, the less painful it will probably be. No matter what type of heeled shoe you choose however, I would buy some padded insoles that go in shoes (Dr. Scholls makes some) to provide some extra padding and comfort. Also, when looking for shoes, if you want something that's going to be more comfortable pay attention the the type of material the shoe is made in. Shoes made of softer leather, suede, etc. that have some give in them are going to be less painful than shoes of hard leather and the like for longtime wear. You'll be able to tell which the material is by feeling it. Another thing you might want to do after picking out a shoe is to wear the shoes around your house for a day or two before you have to wear them at work to help get your feet used to them. Hope that helps!

I would go to the store and invest in some expensive heels. My friend stands all day long in three inch heels, and she's fine. It's a matter of finding ones that are comfortable for you. Try lots on and walk around in them. If they feel comfortable walking int hem, then they might be comfortable all day long. Also buy insert pads for the balls of your feet. When you are in heels most of the pressure is there, and the pads will help cushion this area all day long so they won't hurt as much!

Buy heels JUST for this show...Bring cushioned inserts to a shoe store and try them on in the store WITH THE INSERTS IN. This will ensure a good fit with the extra padding of the inserts. If you do not try them on with the inserts you will most likely buy shoes too small for your toesies and the inserts as well.. Also..Buy either pumps or boots. These provide better support overall, will ease the strain on your ankles, prevent your feet from slipping around in the shoes too much and easily conceal the insoles you've got in them. NO SANDALS!!! Sandals may look GREAT but they provide too little support for your feet!! The last tidbit is...During the days and week/weeks prior to the show wear heels higher than the ones you plan on wearing at the show. That way the lower heels during the show will feel lower than you've adjusted to throughout the prior days/weeks. Believe me..This trick WORKS! If you're body adjusts to a 4"+ heel and you wear a 3" heel one day you feel like you're walking in flats!! Try it!
Also sit down frequently throughout the day. MAKE THE TIME for a break and sit-down lunch! These are real foot savers!
Good luck!!

First of all get the right sized shoe! Nothing that is tight or too narrow (if like me you have wider feet). Make sure the shoe is flexible. Avoid pointy shoes. Try gel inserts. Work your way up. If you've never worn heels before, start at 1.5" inches, then 2.5", then 3.5", etc. Only wear heels that feel comfortable. There is such a thing but you have to get used to it and ensure that the shoe in and of itself is comfortable. Lastly, if you don't have enough time to work your way up - carry a change of shoes. Wear the heels during the busiest time at the trade shoe, then switch to a pair of comfy flats for an hour. I know you're standing for 9 hours but do try to grab a seat and rest your legs every chance you get! (even if its in the lady's room)

women stand in high heels by just putting up with the pain and then after a long period of wearing them you will get used to them.
and also wearing high heels will give you great legs

Well my advice is if you are wearing heels make sure you have good posture, not only will it make you look better but it will save your back from killing you at the end of the day. Also you might try and get some gel inserts for your shoes.

Newsflash, honey: High heels are NOT comfortable. Anyone will tell you that. The only thing I'd recommend, would be to buy a pair of those Dr.Schol's gel inserts. Other than that, throw a smile on your face, and just tough it out.

yep. its something about womans..but i can tell u that ur feet will get used to wear heels if u start some day.
it will make u sexy by the way. hey, i would like to be on sneakers or flip flops all day long, but if i work, i have to wear good shoes.
try to use it sometimes like for a couple of hours, and next day a lil bit more n more each day.
ps:its logic that u should wear heels at work.

Try BCBGirls or ALDO, both are extremely comfortable. If they are pointy, try putting 2 cotton balls in the end of each toe for added comfort.
Break them in and maybe add some heel or gel inserts if it's really bad. You will eventually get used to them.

In my experience the only way for heels to not be painful is to wear them everyday. You just have to let your feet get used to them. Of course they're never going to be super comfortable, but hey what can you do? Once your feet get used to them it will feel weird to wear flats.
