I pick up random CDs in the library. I've been pleasantly surprised by some of the artists I've discovered.

I have adult kids and they share their music w/ me. Some I end up liking and some I don't. I'm only 40 so I like a lot of the new stuff,plus I've always had different music playing in the house more than a TV on.

I read various online magazines and review sites to see if anything piques my interest. Also, Emusic.com is also a good way to explore new things that are outside of the mainstream because it is more affordable then most sites that sell music.

I use Yahoo's music program. The songs it plays are along the lines of ther music I already listen to, so it is very likely that I will like the one's they reccomend.

for years i have stayed in front of the curve and always been the person with the best music by reading the thank you credits of bands i already listen to...they always thank the bands they like and/or have toured with...also pretty much everything on merge records is exceptional.

I use youtube to check out bands. I hear about them from books and friends and then listen to them on youtube. Ive found lots of good bands because of youtube. Before I knew about youtube I used best buy's website because of the song clips.

I do a strange genre shuffle on YMusic radio. Lots of cool things pop up.

Ummmm, I usually listen to my satellite radio, but at the moment J.T's sexy back song is being played on 3 stations at once.
