Yes, I believe there is a course. I think my EX-boyfriend teaches it, being as though this is his area of expertise.
Lets see......Why do people lie? In my opinion, I think people lie to escape both reality and responsibility. They have no REAL sense of who they are, so they "create" things. They not only like to keep from getting into trouble, they lie just for the sake of lying. In short, their coping mechanism as it relates to handling the truth is somehow damaged or underdeveloped. Lying gives them a comfort zone because it allows them to manufacture a situation that suits them, because they simply cannot handle reality.
THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!! (lol)
P.S. If you're interested in taking my ex's course, I think he has a website. It's called www.liemyblackassoff.com

Unfortunately there is no course that you can take to understand this. I am still trying to figure it out. In my experience it is because the person wants to be someone they are not in a way. Whether it is a lie to get the object of their affection or some other reason. There is a deep seeded reason in that persons psyche that makes them think it is OK. Who knows really. Lets just hope we spot the liars before we let them con us!

I think lies are efforts to make up for deficiencies, real or perceived. Most people feel deficient about something at some time and at least feel tempted to lie to compensate. If we can ever learn to accept and love ourselves we can overcome most lying. The other kind of lying is exploitative and a whole nother story...to me its just evil. If you don't get deceit...BRAVO! Don't change, just protect your beautiful self.

I think people just think that lying would help. example
a hot chick asks a guy who many girls he's been with: he will usually reply less than he's actually been with because he feels it would be a turnoff if she knew he had been with 127 girls.
an obese wife asks her husband, "does this make me look fat?" unless he has a death wish, he'll immediatly reply "NO"
i don't know if this helps. hope it does though.
