The first two answers you got are a good example of how god fearing hypocrites feel about their fellow Americans. There will never be anything such as a United Theocracy in America as long as there are hate filled people such as that. Now, all you trolls have a good laugh, turn off your mommies computer and go to bed.

It is beggining to do so. Evangelicals are the largest growing religious group in the nation adn they are basically an army for the republicans. It seems that as we get further away from the drafting of the constituion we begin to ignore its rules and bending it to the poitn that it is almost broken. In the constitution it calls for a seperation fo church and state and that is exactly what should be followed. bring it on you evangelicals some in this country might be afraid of you but im not

In your Liberal education, did anyone ever mention that this country was founded by people fleeing religious persecution? One of the guarantees written into our Constitution was the provision for freedom of religion.

Note the preposition "of".... freedom OF religion. The semi-literate Liberals seem to think it says "freedom from religion".

Our government has far more safeguards already than are necessary to assure that no religion ever becomes a federally mandated religion. No one is forced to believe anything, nor is anyone forced to go to church.

Our currency says "In God We Trust". Behind the Supreme Court is a huge display of the Ten Commandments. When a President takes the oath of office, he swears his allegiance on a Bible. Our governement was founded with religious principles that define who we are and what we stand for. No one is forcing anyone to attend a Catholic or Protestant church. However, Liberals are so intolerant that they are attacking completely innocuous things, like nativity scenes.

I recall that last year, some whiny, dead-head liberal decided she was "offended" by seeing a nativity scene in a public library. This dumb-*ss liberal, however, did not complain about the other religious displays that were similarly displayed for the holidays. She only attacked the Christian one. (Liberals are not only stupid, but hypocritical).

No, your question has no merit. Religion (at least CHRISTIAN religion) is under mercilous attack by illogical, hypocritical liberals. Religion is NOT gaining strength. It is losing strength.

In case you have concluded I am some religious zealot, think again. I was baptized as a Catholic, but I never attend church, never have read the Bible, and have no interest in religion. However, there is no legitimate way that some whiny Liberal can convince me that they are "offended" by a traditional Christmas display.

No, Karl Rove just used the evangelicals to get Bush elected in Texas and it worked so well they used it in the presidential campaign. It was only a stepping stone to power. The separation of church and state was put in place to protect the church from the government as much as it was intended to protect the government from the church. We don't want our government telling us what religion to practice and we don't want religion to dictate law. Thomas Jefferson was a Diest, not a Christian, and our country was not founded on Christianity; it was founded on freedom and freedom of religion.

No. I practice my religion without any interference from any government agent or agency. I'm sorry if you are having problems in this area.

I think not. If anything, we've become too secular. We're not allowed to say "Christmas" or the word "God" because it might offend someone.
