I have a friend that's a girl who I used to really like. We both decided to be friends but now she keeps giving me hints here and there that she may like me or just being very friendly. Anyhow, I do not want to be friends with this girl, she has just caused me too much confusion to the point where I just don't want to see her anymore. She is way too dependent and she gets too close. When I don't talk to her at school (we are both 16 btw) she gets upset and and assumes she made me mad but I just want to have her out of my life. Would it be smart to just try to ignore her? I'm afraid if i hang around too much i may fall for her which i don't want to happen. I want to just be aquaintances, not friends. Please I need some advice on this situation. thanks

Ignoring her probably won't get you anywhere. Just be honest with her and tell her you feel like she's playing games with you and being way too clingy. She'll probably be upset, but you need to be happy too.

Just tell her you don't want to hang out with her all the time. It may be hard, but it will be the best way. if you try to ignore her she might become harder to avoid, then you will have to tell her.

After you tell her, if she still won't leave you alone, you can brush her off when she comes around you and she will eventually get the hint. After that you can control the relationship. Good luck man!

cut her out. just cut her out of your life, dodge her phonecalls, dont talk to her, and dont hang out with her. she'll eventually get the point and move on.

good luck!
