I have a 1.3 L engine DOHC with 16 valves, it only produces 87 hp @ 6,500 rpm.

If I install a turbo charger, ofcourse it will have a greater power, but what about the fuel consumption?

does it really mean that with great power comes with great responsibility?

yes, kind of.

when youre out of the boost (below around 3000 rpm), your gas consumption should be roughly the same. when you stomp of the gas, yes youll be using more fuel, because your car is bringing in more air (and so it compensates with more fuel), so more power.

if youre easy on the gas, it shouldnt really change your milage.

and youre not going to get a whole lot of power outta that motor anyways. prob not worth turboing.

It increases the amount of fuel and air in the combustion chamber so yes. With the power from a 1.3, even with a turbo, there's not too much responsibility to worry about

Fuel consumption should still be reasonable, but with increased power comes the increased desire to use it, and with heavy foot comes poorer gas mileage.

Also, having a turbo increases the responsibility to properly maintain your car, especially regular oil change, and maybe running synthetic oil, ie Mobil 1

If the swifter charger is tuned wisely it may advance the MPG at cruise and nonetheless have greater HP at acceleration. yet maximum aftermarket swifter are no longer tuned for greater effectual MPG. And particular it may blow your engine (particularly) in case you do no longer enhance your engine factors until now. === My 2000 audi A4 a million.8 T (swifter) is surprisingly heavy for a small engine. yet on the hwy, i will get approximately 33 mpg (even rushing). so the swifter is tuned from the production facility for that still. yet as quickly as I floor the gas pedal, it does flow the vehicle surprisingly rapid (no longer quickly as genuine activities automobile, yet nonetheless rapid). Audi is time-venerated for stronger tuning. good success...
