one of these many things...

1 a terrorist attack with 3 nukes

2 the militay to say screw it and over throw the government

3 civil war

4 mass genocide

why do you need at least one of these things? because our country is going to hell and maybe just maybe one of these things will get people to realize that need to act better.

Well, I don't agree with very many of the "solutions" you give for the problem of "going to hell", but I agree that people in America need to wake up to the fact that the world is not a friendly place which loves us to death because we are such nice people.

I lived in Europe for many years and can assure you that, with few exceptions, they will do anythihg to avoid any conflict, ever! Of course, you only have to look at history to find out how that policy has served them and the world at large.

And, the US continues to live in the dream that we are so distant from all of the problems that they will never come here to give us any need to worry or sacrifice. And, we want to be loved, because we are such wonderful well-meaning people that everyone should be able to see that and support us. That is not the way of the world, unfortunately. Does everyone love the NY Yankees or any other very dominant sports team? Of course not! So why do we expect to be understood and loved, especially when many of us don't even know if Belgium is a city or a country?

So, something needs to happen to awaken people to the way the world really is. I thought that 9/11 would help, but after only 5 years a huge percentage of the population has, more or less, forgotten about it and what it meant. Asleep again.

Now people are having problems with the fact that somebody said some bad words to Saddam Hussein at his execution! Give me a break! He was a mad dog and deserved to be put down like one. There was more press for that event than for the public decapitations of innocent hostages in Iraq for no reason at all!

So, I do sympathize with your frustration. But, if I was forced to choose among the 4 options you mentioned (there are others, of course), I would choose #1 with nukes but which were somehow intercepted at the border. I would hope that this would awaken the American public to the fact that this is not a silly little game that they can ignore and that, somehow, it will go away without any sacrifice --- such as having to fight occasionally to keep everything we have --- which is not inconsiderable and envied by much of the world.

I see what you mean. A lot of people take America for granted and don't see how hard it was for America to get freedom in the first place. Freedom has a huge price.

I think those options are kind of extreme though. But, this is how we humans learn lessons. When bad things happen then we realize how truly ungrateful we were about freedom.

Yeah, i'd vote for 2 to!! I don't want my son to die before his first birthday :-S.

However, if you look at how BAD things are now..number 2 really isn't that far away..and lucky for me, my husband is in the military!!

So, just be ready..(and btw, i am NOT anti patriotic...i just know something BIG is gonna happen to this country within the next 20 years)

the whole planet is over populated i agree but no one should be killed anytime anywhere everyone has the right to think anything they want to and say what ever they want too this is America a beautiful place where dreams can come true. no one tells you what to believe or think. it is all in the bill of rights and constitution home of the free and land of the brave with liberty and justice for all. why should mass amounts of people die for being who they are.
