can anyone recommend some good hedges that will thrive in pretty much full shade and reach a height of 3 -5 feet. i live in ky, zone 6. havent came up with anything that i like which will thrive where i want to plant. thanks!

I'll go with:
Boxwood (Buxus), Ivory Halo Dogwood (Cornus alba 'Ivory Halo'), Sarcoxie or Greenlane Euonymus (Euonymus fortunei 'Sarcoxie' 'Greenlane'), Dwarf Fly Honeysuckle (Lonicera xylosteum 'Claveyi' or 'Emerald Mound').

murraya -- aka mock orange -- your area should handle this delightful tree / shrub ( you grow it to how you want it ) delightful fragrance will get you in when you visit you're nursery and buy a couple of these easily " look after yourself plant " good luck .
