A girl, well, you can give them a box of candy with a lip gloss or something else. Maybe a neclace with their name on it.

OK very cheesy but I did it for my guy at the time and he was 27 and absolutely loved it. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a cheap valentine scrap book kit with lots of stickers and little love trinkets ($4.00), in the craft section there are little wooden boxes with cute little buckles to close it ($2.00 or less), then I got glitter glue pens to decorate the box ($4.00).
I decorated the box with the pens ( I wrote our initials on the top and a heart with a arrow through it) then cut little pieces of paper with messages about the things we have shared and cute messages about the things I love about him etc, and sealed each one with the stickers from the scrap book. I wrapped it in a little box, then got a bigger box and wrapped it in there then I took a big box and filled it with tissue paper that was sprayed with the perfume he loves the best on me then wrapped it!
I think it's just enough of what you need, not expensive at all and very thoughtful. I hope I gave you a good idea.... you can always add this gift with something else if you want to give more. There's not even a card necessary for this gift!
This works for girls also!!

what would be really cool is if you go to like target or Walmart or k-mart or go to some fancy chocolate store and buy your friends like boxes of chocolates or go to Hallmark and buy them a nice Valentine (friend) card saying like You deserve a great valentines day thanks for being a good friend. also you can go to Walgreen's and buy a teddy bear that has cupid or something on it saying happy valentines. Or you know you can buy flowers. Last year i got my friends cards and teddy bears and i got 2 grls chocolates.they loved and still to this day they still thank me Also you can go to Victoria secert and buy them pink or red bras with hearts or bake cookies or buy them red or pink lip gloss or a balloon saiding HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!! or just give them a bear hug

Maybe a nice bracelet, or a small valentines day stuffed animal.
I would get my friends some fancy chocolate with a valentines day theme. dont get somethin that says i love you.......

A simple hug, unless you're le* or bi, to show you care. Otherwise, of course, red roses but it would seem like too much of love-giving.

dont put your self in debt now to do this, just do what you can manage to do easily, and you can buy them cheap cards at the stores that sells two for a dollar, you can give them little boxes with chocolates and the card, i think they all will be grateful.
