Walter Payton- He did everything for the Bears and was the focal point of their offense. Whats more, the opposing defenses knew that Payton was all that the Bears had and so they focused solely on him and he still was the NFL's all time leading rusher until E. Smith broke the record. And while Emmitt has more yards, he also had a superior offensive line and a Hall of Fame QB and WR on the field at the same time. Payton would sometimes would have a 10 yard run and only get back to the line of scrimmage because his O-line was so bad. Payton was versatile and did it all, he was always the hammer and never the nail.

I would say that Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, Gale Sayers, and Earl Campbell are also some of the greatest RB's, but Payton surpasses them all.

Walter Payton i think is the best, and Barry Sanders is a very close second

(i mean you have to be one of the best in the NFL history to get so much yards for the Lions and at that time, their horrible offensive line).

LT is good but still has a few years to go?? I think the best is in my time is Eric Dickerson of the Rams? Check out yards in less years? Followed by Campbell,Sanders,Faulk,Bo Jackson,And more. Jim Brown and Sayers were great??

i'm with you on barry sanders, if he had a o-line like any of the other greats had, he would have demolished all the rushing records.
