Prospective college. Normally, I could care less about how someone spells or how good their grammar is online, but with so many people asking about these top colleges, I gotta wonder if they actually have any chance at getting in to these schools.

Anyways, UCLA is a top public university in California. You need top grades and/or SAT/ACT scores to get in. Extra currics too.

Honestly, it's the most impressive UC (undergrad wise) in my opinion. I know Berkeley is ranked higher academically, but not by too much. Has better local restaurants too, by far.

UCLA has the edge because of the overall better sports program, location, etc. However, the primary reason is the general student body atmosphere. It seems to develop kids (or maybe just attracts those kinds, I'm not sure) into adults who are very sociable and outgoing. This is a gross generalization of course with plenty of exceptions, but UCLA seems to produce the "cool" kids (people you'd like at a party) while Berkeley churns out the nerds.

Of course, UCLA kids aren't dumb either. I find this sociability aspect very important because in America, how you interact or charm at work is just as important as how you do your job, particularly in trying to get a promotion, sale, etc. Even in the engineering fields and other fields not known for smoozing. I haven't figured out why, but it's a trend that I've noticed for quite a while.
