Missing a jury duty is a contempt of court because it is a lawful duty under the law. Nevertheless, the absence could be excused if there are valid reasons.

Unless you have a very valid reason like being in the hospital, it is considered contempt of court and a warrant will be issued for you to be brought in. Depending on where you live, you may just be given a lecture and have to pay a fine or you could face a night or two in jail.

Uh Oh! you better run for the hills? ha ha ha ha
No just call there and tell them you missed it and what should you do?
Did you send back the card and say you would be there?
And didn't show up? Or did you just toss the paper in the trash like most folks do? ha ha ?
Or did you not know because you were confused?
And that is the best thing to do, act crazy and stutter. Then they might think you are nuts and then they will throw your paper in the trash themselves. eh?

states/cities have different mechanisms. Some will send the sheriff to "get you." Some will hold you in contempt of court. It's not an option.
