I was wondering what Empfindung meant my orchestra teacher said it was how the music was played.?

Today while we were packing up to go to my other class.. She wrote on the board Empfindung or Empfindburg I don't know which anyway she said that the first person to get the correct answer would get 30 points extra credit. Also to help you out I think it means how the music is played or the style of bowing I am not sure...The person that i think is going to get the right answer will get the Best Answer so try your best and try to give me the right answer! Also the websites that I tried to look up were all in German or French so I may be German but i can't read German so Plz give me the right answer!!
