I am 14 years old and I would really like to start making SOME kind of money. I'm not talking shoveling snow but something along the lines of maybe a fast food or local ice cream parlor. Does anyone know anything good?

The law requires that employers can not hire teenagers until the age of 16, and in some states it requires a work permit through the school in order to hire at 16 now. You may be able to find some part time work for an individual person with their own business (day care out of their home). Babysitting, lawn mowing, paper routes are about all you can do until you turn 16.

I know that there people in your family or family friends that have kids. Try babysitting. Of course they are probably going want a family discount but lets say that you do weekend work keep two family members kids on friday and two different family members' kids on saturday at 6 dollars an hour for each kid for four hours. You could make $96 a week just for two days. That should be enough for you to get what you need. That is about what you will make working at any other job anyway. Start with family first to build references and then you can try working for others.

I think you have to be 15 - 15 1/2 to get a job, and the most common job for you would be a fast food place.

Find a simple job, like a store clerk or a fast food server, but make sure it's close to your house. It's a lot easier to do it when you're independent from you parents. I tried getting an everyday job, but it was far away, and I had no way to get there except for my parents...and of course they refused to do that.
If you can find something to do, and you can get there on your own, then learning the routine will be easy for you..Also, when it's far away, it's reallyyy time consuming.

you have to be 15.5 to get a legit job anywhere in the USA. If youre looking for some extra income, paperboys only have to be 14. Otherwise, your looking at babysitting, snow shoveling, or lawn care.

With people so busy now why not start your own pooper scooper business or dog walking? I'd be willing to pay some one to come clean up the doggy doo out of my yard!
