I personally work for a group of anesthesiologists and I will tell you it is as hard a job as any physician specialty. Malpractice is high and reimbursements get smaller every year. I do know that the doctors I work with do really enjoy their work and I often question what keeps them practicing.
All fields of medicine can be very rewarding, however, in this day and age: there is a lot to think about before you go into any field of medicine.
You can also find a lot of usual here on the internet.You may even want to go to a local teaching hospital and see if it would be possible to meet with an anesthesiogist.

My nephew has proclaimed this to be his path in life simply because he was led to believe he can pull back 250g's a year. That's all I got on the subject. Oh yea, and women love..........no worship......the giver of the epidural!!
