depends on what engine. if it is the 305 v8 or the 4.3 v6, it isn't worth buying. however, if it has the 350 v8, it would be a good engine and fairly decent transmission. look out for rust under the extended cab, as that can be pretty costly to repair. everything else on the truck is readily available at your local auto parts store or junkyard.

Thats the awesomest vehicle made. I would definitely like the 6.5 diesel engine the best & I would prefer the fleetside bed, but I could live with the stepside, plus it doesn't look half bad.

i own a 95 step side reg. cab and a friend of mine has a 96..his has the 305 and mine the 350.both are great engines as is the 4.3.they all have the same trans.i love mine.it's got almost 200k on it now.

the bed is just for looks( and looks good) and serves no useful purpose. put a cr250 in it and it will look a lot better.
