my husband had a vasectomy done last January. we went to a urologists clinic, he had to wait a few weeks to make sure it was what he wanted, he went back to the office on the day of procedure, they numbed up his parts down there, made a couple cuts to the tubes that carry sperm out, tied them off, and sewed up the initial incision. he was in the room a total of 15 minutes MAYBE. was a very fast procedure and he walked right out of the office, no pain. when the numbing meds wore off he said it just felt like someone kicked him down there, but wasnt to bad. hope it helped you out.

THIS IS A SIMPLE OPERATION DONE ON A MALE SO THE MALE CANT PRODUCE CHILDREN ANY MORE. USUALLY MEN GET A VASECTOMY AFTER HAVING ALL THE CHILDREN THEY WANT TO HAVE. ITS A VERY SENSIBLE THING TO HAVE DONE ..NOTHING GETS REMOVED. ITS A MATTER OF TYING OFF A SMALL TUBE SO THE SPERM DOESNT APPEAR THUS CAUSING PREGNANCY. WOMEN HAVE A SOMEWHAT SIMILAR DONE ON TUBES SO AS NOT TO HAVE CHILDREN I BELIEVE. THESE ARE VERY SENSIBLE PROCEDURES AND TAKE JUST A FEW MINUTES IN A SPECIALISTS OFFICE USUALLY. I UNDERSTAND NOW USING MICRO SURGERY THE OPERATION CAN BE REVERSED BUT I DONT KNOW WHO WOULD WANT IT REVERSED.

A vasectomy is an operation the removes a section of the vas deferens for each side. The vas deferens carries sperm from the testicle to the urethra. This is analogous to tubal ligation in a woman.

The vas defrens (sp?) is snipped and a portion removed. This is the "hose" that carries the impregnating ejaculate. It is an out patient procedure that takes about twenty minutes.

to put it simply its the male equivalent of a women getting her tubes tied. Its stops sperm from coming out the shaft. So the guy can get a girl pregnant or for guys who dont want to worry bout getting a girl pregnant or you have the guys who dont want to use rubbers lol

I have had this done. The fertilization cords (two of them) are cut so you can't pass on fertilized sperm. Don't worry, the man can still produce sperm/*** and everything works as normal--you just can't reproduce. Its usually an easy surgery.
