I believe if both parties are willing to now be REALLY honest with one another and sit down with a counselor and deal with the real issues that brought this affair on in the first place and each party is willing to forgive each other and themselves than there might be a chance it will work to reconciliation and survive if that is what everyone wants except for the one he was having the affair with she must never be seen again

If it has lasted 5 years,seems both of you have some Major problems.Maybe it been over for you two so the affair went on without being addressed.only the two of you can see if you want it to survive.talk try to work it out or cut and run.

Sure it can, it's up to both people to work together and WANT to fix the marriage. It's a process and it's not easy, it requires full commitment and loads of therapy.

I don't think so, at least not for me. When you think of all the hundreds upon hundreds of lies the cheating partner has told in five years--- well, there just wouldn't be ANY trust or respect left. :(
