I am teaching the children to tell time to the hour as this is just the introductory lesson, but additional lessons for later on would be helpful as well. Thanks.

The best way to teach the time is to have them make a clock with construction paper. That way they learn the numbers that they will see on a clock and become familiar with their placement. For the age group you are working with do not even mention the minute hand. Use a brass fastener to attach a hour hand to the clock and show that when the hour hand is at 1 it's one o'clock etc.

A great reinforcer is to play the game what time is it Mr. Wolf with a clock, either a wall clock with large numbers or a clock that you made. The children have fun and they have to know how to tell the time.

I have used www.aaamath.com many times with some of my general math classes. There are a few lessons on time in the "measurement" category. Not sure if this will help you right now, but it is sure to be useful sometime in the future.

Nice introduction to the parts of a clock! They can watch the movie, do some activities, and even take a short quiz!

i remember my teacher having a toy clock in the room.
she would tell us which hand did what and how to count the hours first.
then she brought in a digital clock and the class observed how the numbers changed fom minute to minute...
ahh... sweet old kindergarden... those were the days...

many times whilst a pupil asks to bypass to the showering room, the instructor replies "no." distinctly whilst they're taking on something, or doing a worksheet. yet whilst a pupil says that's a real emergency, then i think of you're able to have enable him bypass
